a thought.
"You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing and dance, and write poems and suffer and understand, for all that is life."

wherever hopes a different sky
forever moved unknown,
travelled,
brushed around light fading,
marked little lives.
soul wonder aligned behind my shoulders.
dream-memory passing,
shadows crossed smoke.
stars unseen knew together
moments walking within daylight.
lights rode orbits,
a direction never dreamed later
(came laughter amongst a different sky long ago).
time circles sun without voices,
paths like summer comets,
twenty comets breathing.

For those outside of Canada, the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or GRC: Gendarmerie Royale Canadien for those who prefer their French name) is Canada’s national police force.
This morning at just about 10 minutes to 9, I had a visitor from the RCMP. In fricking Ottawa, for crying out loud.

I found this in the remains of an old journal. I’m happy to say that I don’t feel quite so trapped, anymore.
I enter the room and, at his gesture, move around the desk to sit down.
It is a small room we are in; square, grey, undecorated, with dark-shadowed corners. There is an industrial-looking metal desk [...]

Sometimes I get these crazy cool ideas when I’m drifting off to sleep.
Ideas for stories, mostly. Poems, sometimes.
Sometimes I have flashes of profound insight into the Universe and its Workings, and these notions would change life as we know it — if I didn’t fall asleep while thinking them, and if [...]

[If looking for fluff, please refer to previous entry. Thank you. — Ed.]
So I got this e-mail from BoyHollywood…this is the guy who wrote the play(s) about the two of us when we were kids. He’s since written or worked on screenplays for a couple of movies, has published various plays, etc. Basically, he’s doing [...]

Okay, first — I’m sick. Like a dog. A sick dog.
It started a few weeks ago when I caught a cold. Just an ordinary Snot Release Party head cold. Sneeze sneeze sneeze. Drip drip drip. Purge purge purge. You get the (gooey) idea.
Around Boxing Day* (”The Day After Christmas” for you Yanks) I was [...]

Freddy Freon hurried home to his electric room. I love that phrase. I found it in a kids’ Language Arts textbook published circa 1972.
Meanwhile, the universe continues to expand with little indication of stopping to sign on with Weight Watchers.
The stars are starring, the comets are comety, pulsars are pulsing, and reports indicate that the [...]

It sucks that my creative fits seem to hit me at three a.m. … Here I am, doing some editing on a story. All the lights are off except for my desk lamp. It casts weird shadows over my desk and the wall behind it. I’m wearing headphones, but at the moment I’m not listening [...]

…But I was lying there in the dark when all these ideas started pouring into my head. This has to do with Persephone’s Three. I closed a hole in a plot point, and suddenly all sorts of things started to become clear. I’d jump up and down but I’ve just taken a [...]
